Terms of service

Effective date: June 7th, 2026

Last updated: June 7th, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the rules for using Spreadsheet Center. They form a binding agreement between you and Mancato. We've written them in plain language; if anything is unclear, email terms@spreadsheetcenter.com.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Spreadsheet Center (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Who we are

The Service is operated by Mancato, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 76898415. In these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Mancato; "you" refers to the person using the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you're younger, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

4. Accounts

Each account is for the personal use of one individual. You may not share your account credentials, allow others to access your account, or transfer your account to anyone else. This applies regardless of whether you or someone else (for example, your employer) pays for the account.

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens through your account. If you believe your account has been used without your authorization, contact us promptly.

We may suspend an account where we see patterns inconsistent with single-person use, such as simultaneous active sessions from very different locations or unusual access volumes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in violation of applicable law
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service or its content beyond what we expressly permit (see section 7)
  • Probe the Service for vulnerabilities, perform load testing without our consent, or otherwise attempt to disrupt the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, impersonate, or invade the privacy of others
  • Submit content that is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes the rights of others
  • Use the Service in any way that interferes with other users' ability to use it

This list isn't exhaustive. The underlying principle is that you should use the Service for its intended purpose: your own learning.

6. User content and public profiles

You can optionally create a public profile that displays your username, display name, and stats (such as your streak and number of completed exercises). By making your profile public, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to display this content on the Service. This license ends when you make your profile private or delete your account.

Usernames and display names must not be offensive, deceptive (for example, impersonating real people or organizations), or contain personal information about others. We may change or remove usernames and display names at our discretion, without prior notice.

Users may report public profiles they consider inappropriate. We review reports and decide what action to take. We don't commit to any specific timeline or process, and we don't share the identity of reporters with reported users.

7. Our content and your license to use it

All content on the Service — including exercises, instructional materials, the interactive editor and its functionality, design, code, and trademarks — is our property or licensed to us. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for your own learning.

What you can do: Use exercises and content for your individual learning, regardless of whether your learning has personal or professional motivations. A working professional sharpening their skills, a student preparing for an interview, and a hobbyist working through exercises are all fine.

What you can't do: Redistribute, repackage, resell, or include our content in any other offering, whether free or paid. You can't include exercises in your own training courses, scrape exercises to host them elsewhere, or integrate the Service into a commercial product.

Search engines and AI tools: We currently allow search engines and AI tools to index and reference our textual content for the purpose of discovery and reference, as set out in our robots.txt. This permission is limited to that purpose. It does not authorize wholesale reproduction of exercises, and in particular does not authorize reproducing the interactive editor or the integrated exercise experience.

Anything you submit to us: You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., contact form messages, survey responses). By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to use it for the purpose for which you submitted it — answering your message, fixing a bug, or understanding our user base.

8. Free tier

The free Service is offered as-is. We may modify, restructure, suspend, or discontinue any free feature at any time, with or without notice. We don't guarantee that any specific exercise or feature will remain available, free, or unchanged.

9. Pro subscriptions

We offer paid subscriptions ("Pro") with additional features. Sections 9, 10, and 11 apply once Pro is offered to you.

Pricing and billing. Pro is offered as either a monthly or annual subscription. Prices are shown at checkout and indicate whether they include or exclude VAT. Payment is processed through Paddle, which acts as our Merchant of Record — Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, and tax compliance, and your invoice will reference Paddle as the seller of record.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle, at the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel before renewal.

Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or through Paddle. After cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't pro-rate refunds for mid-cycle cancellations except as described in section 11.

Price changes. If we change the price of your subscription, we'll notify you in advance. Price changes apply only to future renewals — never to a billing cycle you've already paid for.

10. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, EU law gives you the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving any reason. To withdraw, email us at terms@spreadsheetcenter.com or use Paddle's refund process.

We honor this right in full. We don't ask you to waive it at checkout, and we'll refund you within a reasonable period after you withdraw.

11. Refunds

  • Within 14 days of subscription: full refund on request, per section 10.
  • Material adverse changes during your subscription: if we make material changes to the Service that significantly reduce what you subscribed to, you can cancel and receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion. "Material adverse change" is interpreted narrowly — routine restructuring, moving exercises between tracks, or removing individual exercises don't qualify.
  • Mid-cycle cancellation: outside the situations above, we don't refund mid-cycle. You retain access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Termination for cause by us: if we terminate your subscription because you've violated these Terms, no refund.

Refunds are processed through Paddle and returned to your original payment method.

12. Service changes

We will continue to develop and improve the Service. This means we may add, remove, or change features and content over time. In particular:

  • We may add new exercises or remove existing ones.
  • We may move exercises between the free tier and Pro.
  • We may restructure tracks, change difficulty levels, or modify the interface.
  • We may change the design, underlying technology, or hosting of the Service.

For paid users, the material adverse change rule in section 11 provides a remedy if any change significantly reduces what you subscribed to.

13. Beta and experimental features

We may release features marked "Beta," "Experimental," "Preview," or similar. These features:

  • Are provided as-is, without any guarantee of performance or availability
  • May be modified, withdrawn, or made paid-only at any time without notice
  • Don't trigger the material adverse change rule when withdrawn

If you use a Beta feature, you accept it on these terms.

14. Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or use the Service in a way that harms us or other users. Where we terminate for cause, we don't refund unused subscription time.

We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, after reasonable notice.

We may discontinue the Service entirely. If we discontinue Pro, we'll refund the unused portion of any paid subscription.

15. Disclaimer and conformity

We provide the Service with reasonable care, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any specific content will be available or accurate at any given time. Exercises and their solutions are for educational purposes; we don't guarantee any specific learning outcome.

If you're a consumer in the EU, statutory consumer rights apply regardless of anything in these Terms. In particular, for paid Pro subscriptions, the conformity guarantee under Directive (EU) 2019/770 means we owe you a Service that works as described. Nothing in these Terms limits those statutory rights.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability. For free users, this means no monetary liability.
  • We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost business, or lost data.

Nothing in this section limits our liability for:

  • Intent or gross negligence
  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law

17. AI training and your data

We do not sell, share, or otherwise make user data available for use in training third-party AI models. If we ever change this position, we'll update these Terms and notify users in advance.

18. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use personal data when you use the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you've read it.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Routine updates (clarifications, typo fixes, replacing a sub-processor with another doing the same job) won't trigger a notice.

For material changes — for example, new restrictions on use, new fees, or changes that meaningfully affect your rights — we'll notify you in advance. For paid users, this notice will be at least 30 days before the change takes effect, so you can cancel before renewal if you don't agree.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Dutch courts.

If you're a consumer resident in another EU country, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your home country's law, and you may bring proceedings in your home country where local law permits.
